Work Experience:
From 1st of May 2008 to present: Executive Director of the coalition “Occupied Palestine Syrian Golan Heights Advocacy Initiative” (OPGAI). My responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible for planning and administrating the advocacy campaigns and plans for the coalition.
- Responsible for following up the action plans of the coalition.
- Coordinate the advocacy work of the individual organizations.
- Networking with other coalitions and networks, locally and internationally.
- Develop and implement the advocacy training programs for individual organizations, unions and CBOs.
From 1st of January 2007 till 30th of April 2008: Manager of the YMCA/YWCA Joint Advocacy Initiative (JAI). My responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible on the overall administration and communications.
- Coordinate the following networks; CROs (Church-related organizations) network, OPGAI United in Struggle network, NGO forum
- Prepare and design the future plans and projects and develop the proposals
- Develop and implement the advocacy training programs for the JAI staff, volunteers and the other organizations and networks.
From 1st of October 2000 till 1st of January 2007: Coordinator of the East Jerusalem YMCA Advocacy Desk. My responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible on the publications and communications.
- Editor of The East Jerusalem YMCA magazine
- Editor of The East Jerusalem YMCA newsletter (The Voice)
- Responsible on implementing the Olive Tree Campaign and others campaigns.
From 1st of January 1998 till 1st of October 2000: Head of the Research Unit at the East Jerusalem YMCA Rehabilitation Program. My responsibilities include the following:
- Plan the research topics and formulating the work curriculum.
- Supervise the field researchers.
- Writing the final reports of the researches.
- Submitting the periodical reports to the parties concerned.
From 1st October 1994 till 31st of December 1997: Social Worker at the YMCA Rehabilitation Program..
From 1st of October 1990 till 30th of September 1994: Night Supervisor at the YMCA Rehabilitation Program.
Experience in organizing and implementing training programs in advocacy and conflict transformation:
- Prepare and conduct a two-day advocacy TOT training program for 15 trainers from Ma'an development, Palestinian Civic Forum, YMCA, and Save the children UK.
- The content of the training program was about advocacy concepts, advocacy strategies, tools, advocacy circle
- Prepare and conduct a five-day training program on advocacy and conflict transformation in UK, for participants from Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Asia, and Africa
- The content of the training was about concepts and theories of conflict strategies for intervention, meditation, negotiation, and advocacy.
- Prepare and conduct a five-day training program for US Quakers’ Middle East Partners in Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria
- The content of the training was about concepts and theories of conflict strategies for intervention, meditation, negotiation, and advocacy, supervision, problem identifying, and analysis
- Prepare and conduct a three-day advocacy training program for the network of Christian organizations in Bethlehem
- Prepare and conduct a three day training program for YMCA/YWCA/Joint Advocacy Initiative in advocacy, campaigning, lobbying, networking, coalition building, advocacy and media.
- Prepare and conduct several training programs for youth groups and CBOs, in issues of strategic planning, community mapping, conflict transformation and advocacy.

- Manager of the Palestinian delegation to the World Social Forum in Caracas in 2006
- Manager the Palestinian delegation to European Social Forum in Athens in 2006

- Member in the follow up committee for refugees in the southern West Bank. From 2001 till 2003
- Member in the Campaign against Torture in the Middle East and North Africa.

- Directory of disability and rehabilitation organizations in Palestine for the Ministry of Social Affairs, Palestine.
- A study on: “The reality of the social workers working at the schools of the Palestinian Ministry of Education," February 1999.
- A study on: “The reality of disability and rehabilitation in Palestine," 1999.
- A study of the opinion and directions of the beneficiaries concerning the vocational rehabilitation services at the YMCA Rehabilitation Program.
- A study on: "The organizations and the services specialized for the child and the disabled child in the West Bank"
- Several articles in local newspapers and news agencies.
